There is nothing more beautiful than a natural fish pond in your backyard or garden. Sitting beside it, taking in all the sites, sounds; think of all the relaxation and serenity it can bring to your life.

Koi (pronounced [ko i]), are ornamental domesticated varietimes of the common carp that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor ponds and water gardens. They are also called Japanese carp.

Koi were developed from common carp in ancient China in Jin Dynasty and was later transferred to Korea and Japan, and are still popular there because they are a symbol of love and friendship. A variety of colors and color patterns have since been developed; common colors include white, black, red, yellow, blue, and cream.

Koi are remarkably sturdy fish when it comes to cool temperatures, but to keep them thriving, you'll need to keep your koi pond from freezing during the winter. (allen do you have any text to put here?)
